A New Leaf
I've been drafting up this post for a few months now, mostly because I've gone back and forth so many times about my decision to close down Woodbury Lane. Because I can write that without feeling resistance, I know that it's the right decision. I recognized that the shop wasn't serving the purpose I originally intended for it and learned how near impossible it was to get the quality of clothing that met my expectations while retailing it at a reasonable price (and still making a profit). Each time I thought I had found a solution or the ideal wholesaler they became unreliable and things fell through. Business stuff aside, an even bigger factor in my decision is that my personal life has drastically changed in ways I never would have predicted when I was fresh out of college with entrepreneurship on the brain.
The closing of this chapter is not as sad for me as I once thought it might be. Running my own business taught me so much that I could have only learned from experience. Not to mention it created some incredible opportunities and lead me to one of my best friends in Milwaukee. In some ways it showed me that I have no limits and helped me narrow down and hone in on what I want out of my career from this point on. I'm so excited to continue to focus on and provide value through my blog and social channels in the future.
With all of that being said, the entire shop will be 40% off from now through the end of the year with code HOLIDAY. I'd like to extend a HUGE thank you to everyone who has supported me and WL these past 2 years! ♥
Also, Shopbop is having their big annual sale for the holidays, which runs through tomorrow! They have some of the most unique and beautiful pieces in their gift section this year and the sweater I'm wearing above is on sale right now :) It's one of my favorite pieces this season! Here's the link to take you there: SHOP
