I originally had this post titled "Life Update," until I quickly realized that the words "life update" are usually paired with things like engagements, babies, purchasing homes, or moving across the country (at least in the blog world). So no, this isn't exactly a "life update," but more like a "currently." Currently a few small, but blog-worthy things have taken place in my little world (if you want to read about my new haircut/color you can scroll right to the end)! Since we're in the dead of winter with sub zero temps in WI lately, it's hard to find ways to keep busy and have fun when I'm not working. In summer, I can literally just sit outside and do absolutely nothing and be okay with that as long as the sun is shining on me. I don't exactly feel that way about sitting inside for months on end. So ever since Santa Claus and his elves gave me this lovely iPad for Christmas I've found a few different things that keep me sane.
The first being daily yoga. This relates to my iPad because without it I wouldn't be utilizing the Yoga Studio app which is just about the greatest thing ever. I can now do yoga without even leaving my house and at anytime that I choose! My favorite part is the 10 min sessions for people with crammed schedules (although sometimes I do two of these in a row). If you like yoga…I highly recommend this app! The second thing that's been keeping me sane is the Serial Podcast. I'm going to be short and sweet about this because I don't want to give too much away, but essentially it is 12 episodes where a reporter is reinvestigating a murder case from 1999. Many people believe that the man convicted of the murder who was sentenced to life is innocent. The whole thing is a true story and the reinvestigation is happening in real time (meaning it all just unraveled a few months ago and she is still investigating more details today). I had been hearing so much about Serial that I finally had to listen for myself. I'll admit, murders aren't exactly my "cup of tea," but the series instantly had me hooked and I listened to the whole thing in just 3 days…#obsessedFINALLY, my favorite "currently" in life is my brand new do by the lovely Samantha Kate. For a while I had been wanting to try a new hairstylist and I had a feeling Sam would be a good fit. I seriously feel like my hair is 10x healthier since she worked her magic a few days ago. It's incredibly silky and the color is so unbelievably shiny! Thoughts on my new darker shade of brown? It's much darker than I've ever gone since I began blogging, but I felt as though it was time for a change… I say "be bold or go home!"
Thanks SO much to Sam for my happy and healthy locks :D
