I hesitated titling this post "daily makeup routine" because ever since I began nannying and working on my business I rarely ever take the time to apply makeup. I generally just wear it on weekends when I'm out with friends. Nevertheless, when I do use it I apply it the same way every time so I thought after a year and a half of blogging I should share my routine :)
I always begin with my Age Rewind concealer by Maybelline (maybe that's a bit ironic since I'm just 23), but I swear by this stuff. Compared to other concealers it's incredibly lightweight. I dab it a bit under my eyes and other dark or red spots and then blend with my beauty blender (which is what I'm doing two photos above…not crying, although it may look like that). Then I brush on my GloMinerals powder and blush. I started using the GloMinerals base about a year ago and I swear I will never use anything else. It is so natural looking and long-lasting. For years I dealt with foundations and powders that made my face look orange (or some other unnatural tone). I don't have to worry about that anymore with my pressed base…cheers to that!
Finally, and most importantly in my opinion, I apply my mascara. I just began using Younique mascara. If you've never heard of it, it's a gel and fiber combo mascara that adds serious thickness and length to your lashes. Below I am applying the gel and the photo under that on the right shows the fibers. This is the part I was a little weirded out by but it's also the part that really adds the length.
So just for fun I did a little comparing between my new and old mascara. The photo below shows my lashes using Younique on the left and my other mascara on the right. I was shocked by the huge difference! So from now on you'll know my trick to great lashes in future blog posts ;)
