For years, I have fallen into the trap of color coding my outfits with the seasons. You know… Summer is for bright colors and polka dots, Autumn is for warm hues and plaid, in Winter I'm drawn to basic blacks and grays, and then Spring is predictably pastels. I'm really starting to realize how lame and limiting this problem is! Changing my habit has been one of the challenges I've faced as a "style blogger."
A week or two ago, I was searching my closet going through the typical "I have nothing to wear" thought process when I came across my coated skinnies that I specifically purchased for fall (see this post). Then I realized I missed them! I want to wear them like right now! But that was so outside of my very boring and predictable comfort zone. So I compromised with myself and paired them with some pastel mint (my go-to color) to create a less expected combination while decreasing my cost per wear. Take that, pre-blogging Katelyn! If you haven't hopped on the coated skinny trend yet, lucky for you I've added some reasonably priced options to the slideshow below, since they're no longer available at Gap.
I'm not one to over-use the word "obsessed," so believe me when I say that I do have an obsession with the color mint. I carry this mint purse with an identically colored phone case around everyday and own multiple mint sweaters, jeans, scarves…you name it. I'm not sure how I've kept this a secret on the blog for so long. Needless to say I hope the color will never go out of style.
Peace. Love. Mint ♥
