When you have a clear mind you allow space for better thoughts and greater awareness of things that make you happy. The past week or so I’ve discovered a few inspiring things that I wanted to share with y'all today (I live in the south now, so saying y'all is totally acceptable right?).
The first is this book I came across at Paper Source called “What I’ve Learned." It’s a collection of interviews by Esquire where 65 artists, athletes, leaders and legends share their own definitions of the meaning of life according to their personal experiences. Even though it's more of a coffee table book, it's been hard for me to put down and the best way to explain it simply is “raw”. This is the real stuff that most celebrities rarely talk about. My only issue with the book is that it features mostly men (whoruntheworld? yeah).
The second is another book (surprise, surprise) that you’ve likely heard of before called “The Four Agreements.” It’s a quick and easy read that I feel like anyone who’s interested in personal growth would enjoy. My favorite takeaway here has to do with doing your best (AKA the fourth agreement). Ruiz talks about this notion and how when we do our best without anticipation or thought of reward everything becomes a little easier (and happier). But there are so many more great pieces of advice in the book :)
The third and final thing I wanted to share is a song. I know it’s been out for a while, but I’m just discovering what it’s called and who it’s by…"Lost in my Mind” by The Head and The Heart. It makes me feel super carefree and at peace so needless to say it’s been on repeat for days.
Okay now let’s talk clothes. I realize I just posted two lace-up top looks in a row, but hey it’s trending and it might just be my favorite look for spring/summer. Apologies in advance if you see even more of it in the near future over here. This top is by Free People and I’ve already gotten way more use out of it than I would have expected. The jeans are Abercrombie (similar here) and my shoes are American Eagle. Although you can’t tell from the pics the buckle is rose gold and I’ve gotten lots of compliments on them :)
